Swartz Creek Community Mission Board
Building a Bridge Between Community Leaders and Swartz Creek Community SchoolsMission, Vision & Purposes
Mission: Our mission is to build a bridge between our school district and community in with the purpose of supporting and serving the needs of our students and members in the community.
The Swartz Creek Community Mission Board is made up of representatives from each of the schools, religious organizations, volunteer organizations, state departments, and businesses within the Swartz Creek community. The board will be chaired by David Simancek, Director of Child and Community Development, who will organize and facilitate the monthly meeting where we discuss and coordinate our activities and school/community service projects and partnerships.
What the Community Mission Board Does
Threads Program
Building on what Swartz Creek High School already started, Threads is our new district-wide clothes program focused on removing barriers of learning by partnering with the community by collecting and offering free clothes, shoes, accessories and toiletries to students in need.
Backpack Program
The elementary backpack program is intended to remove barriers of learning by partnering with the community through Swartz Creek’s Community Mission Board in offering free food to those Swartz Creek students in need.
Swartz Creek Veteran’s Wall of Honor Project
The Veteran’s Wall of Honor is intended to recognize, honor and support the past and present veteran population in our Swartz Creek community for their courageous service.
